The Day We’ve Been Waiting For

Please join us for a “33rd LD Debate Watch Party” at our new campaign office in downtown Des Moines from 5:30 to 8:30 PM on Friday, September 26. Come watch the first presidential debate between Senator Barack Obama and Senator John McCain! Beverages will be provided, but please bring a potluck dish to share. The new campaign office is located at 22515 Marine View Drive S in Des Moines. Click here for directions and look for a big “Tina” sign in the window! Also, please RSVP to Meg Tapucol-Provo at megacious@comcast.net. FaceBook users please click here for more details or to RSVP online. Note that even if the debate is canceled, we will still hold the open house, so please come down!

Tree Planting at East Hill Elementary

Please join Democrats Work and the Washington Alliance for Better Schools (WABS) on Wednesday October 22nd from 4 to 6 PM to plant trees at East Hill Elementary School in Kent. WABS is a partnership of 12 school districts, serving over 286,000 students in the Puget Sound area, dedicated to dramatically improving student performance and achievement. Click here for more information, or here for directions to East Hill Elementary.

Voter Registration, Phone Banking and Canvassing for Obama and the Democrats

Please help with voter registration from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM this Saturday September 27 at the Kent Farmer’s Market and from 10 AM to 4 PM on Sunday September 28 at the Safeway in Des Moines. This is really important because next Saturday is the deadline for mail-in voter registration. Click here for directions to the Kent Farmers Market, here for directions to the Des Moines Safeway and here to sign up for a Sunday shift time.

Also, please help with canvassing in Kent’s West Hill and East Des Moines at 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm Sunday September 28. We’ll be meeting at the Starbucks on Pacific Highway. Click here for directions.
