Tina wins Democratic Nominating Convention!

Hello friend,

I have some exciting news on the campaign front! (also, for the clever reader—see if you can find Ricky Nelson).

New Endorsement:

• I am extremely honored to have received the Democratic nomination from my 33rd LD District Organization—thank you! In our campaign there have been some very important endorsements but this is the most special one of all because it is from my fellow Democrats in the 33rd district. This is an outstanding organization that has some of the most dedicated Democrats I have ever had the pleasure to know. I am also excited that we have so many new members joining us who have great energy and ideas.

Campaign Activities:

• Please mark your calendar for our Garden Party campaign event where we will celebrate our campaign successes and we will honor Rep. Shay Schual-Berke for her 10 years of service. It will be held on Tuesday, June 10th from 5:30-7pm at the lovely home of Helen Kludt’s in Normandy Park. Special guests: Rep. Shay Schual-Berke and Councilmember Dow Constantine. • I had the opportunity to attend the Board of Fire Commissioners for South King County, (a special thank you to Chief Al Church and Fire Commissioner Jim Fossos). Did you know they are strengthening their military leave policies to support their members who are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan? They will have one of the strongest and most supportive policies in the area, (thank you for supporting our troops!).
• We held our doorbelling training and team outreach at the Kent Library. Thanks you to all the volunteers who attended. I want to give a special thank you to Stephen Lamphere who did an outstanding training on doorbelling, (even the pro’s left with some new tips—thanks Stephen). I want to thank Lionel Forde for giving a nice overview of VAN. I also want to thank Amanda and Aaron for organizing the event (and bringing food).
